this event. The concert will
be held at Bookman
Elementary School and will
begin at 4pm, students are
asked to arrive no later than
3:15pm.
June 1st - Maestro Music
Student Showcase at GMG
Music Center. Lake
Carolina, Rice Creek and
Langford will be performing
at 1pm. Bookman and CFA
will be performing at 4pm.

Whether you're an aspiring American Idol, a beginning
artist, or simply someone who loves to sing, GMG staff will
help you develop your talent so that you can go to the
next level.

GMG Students
VOICE PROGRAM
Children ages 4-6 must begin in the Early Childhood Music
Academy to build a strong musical foundation through singing
and music theory.
Students ages 7-18 are eligible for the Voice Program at GMG
Music Center. This program introduces the fundamentals of
breathing, diaphragm control, correct posture, good vocal
support, tone production and diction in a relaxed and
supportive atmosphere. In addition, students receive training in
pitch, tone, agility, projection, timing and phrasing.
GMG strives to give voice students the best training possible
to prevent injury and to increase range, flexibility, and control.
Students gain confidence as they learn to use their voices
properly and expressively while reducing strain and physical
tension. Emphasis on voice production may include clarity of
speech, economy of breath and proper articulation. The
student should ultimately be able to sing with ease confidence
and enjoyment.
Classes help students prepare for performances through
staging instruction, performance techniques and selecting
appropriate repertoire. Early instruction in voice focuses on
simple songs and pitch exercises to aid in developing a
musically tuned ear in a fun, relaxed environment.
GMG also offers performance opportunities for its vocal
students, including recitals, Open Mic Friday and community
events. These performances allow students to showcase their
work, giving them an opportunity to share their progress with
family and friends.
